This is an Augmented
Writing object.
An Augmented Writing object is made of
virtual and augmented environments turned into words, hypertrophic web
information collages without pictures, hidden and unknown contents, historical
and inner narratives, text instead of screen, scripts instead of faces and
other forms of written matter.
Dans
cette communication je souhaiterais esquisser les enjeux théoriques, politiques
et artistiques de mon projet Écriture augmentée (www.augmentedwriting.com),
en me focalisant notamment sur les évolutions que celui-ci aura connues lors de
mon séjour de résidence à la Kunsthalle Mulhouse et à l'Université de
Haute-Alsace en mars et mai 2012.
BIO (version française):
Alessandro De Francesco est né en à Pise, Italie, et vit à Strasbourg.
Ecrivain, artiste et théoricien, il a été visiting poet à l'European Graduate
School de Saas Fee et collaborateur au Centre d'études poétiques de l'ENS de
Lyon. Il a enseigné la création littéraire à l'École normale supérieure de la
rue d'Ulm. Il bénéficie actuellement de la « bourse de création » du Centre
National du Livre et enseigne à l'Université de Bâle, où il est par ailleurs
doctorant en co-tutelle avec l'Université Paris-Sorbonne. Ces principales
parutions sont : Lo spostamento degli oggetti (Cierre Grafica, 2008), dès1000m
(e-book, gammm.org, 2009), Ridefinizione (La Camera Verde, 2011, version
française parue chez Mix. : Redéfinition, 2010). Alessandro De
Francesco a réalisé en Europe et Amérique du Nord, de nombreuses lectures,
installations et performances qu’il nomme « environnements de

Alessandro De Francesco (Pisa, 1981) is a poet and artist based in Strasbourg, France. He is
currently recipient of the writers' grant of the French Centre National du
Livre and teaches at the University of Basel. Alessandro is part of the
European Graduate School Faculty, he was part of the Centre d'études poétiques
directed by Jean-Marie Gleize and he co-founded the creative writing program
within the Literature and Languages Department at the École Normale Supérieure
in Paris. Poetry books: Lo spostamento degli oggetti (Cierre Grafica,
Verona, 2008), da 1000m (ebook, gammm.org, 2009), Redéfinition
(Mix., Parigi, 2010), Ridefinizione (La Camera Verde, Roma,
2011). As visual and sound artist, Alessandro realized performances,

Frieze Bordering Red: Rothko IMAG[IN]ED
Continuous
Frieze Bordering Red (Frise ininterrompue à la frontière du rouge) retrace les trajets migratoires d'une Autre,
voyageant entre les pays, les langues, et les identités en
mutation. Récit sur l'hybridité, ce texte explore la [dis]-location vue comme une embardée culturelle, tout en interrogeant le rouge
de Rothko: ses fenêtres murées, abimées par l'eau [frontières
flottantes], qui reflètent les frontières culturelles instables de
l'hybride. Continuous
Frieze Bordering Red tente de se détourner des définitions péjoratives
d'"hybride" pour s'ouvrir à la monstruosité du soi.

Frieze Bordering Red documents
the migratory patterns of an Other, as she travels between countries,
languages, and shifting identities. A narrative on hybridity, the text
explores [dis]location as a cultural swerve while it interrogates Rothko's
red: his bricked-in, water-damaged windows [floating borders], which reflect
unstable cultural borders to the hybrid. Continuous Frieze Bordering Red attempts
to move away from pejorative definitions of "hybrid" and embrace the
monstrous self.
